Romsey and District Beekeepers' Association

Beginners' Course - the Covid-19 Version

Our Beginners' Course NORMALLY runs over a weekend in spring. It would have covered basic beekeeping, with the aim of enabling you to start keeping bees this year.

The Covid-19 outbreak has made running this course impossible.
For those who were intent on starting to keep bees this year - especially those in the south of England - we are offering an alternative.
We have created a distance-learning course. The tutors are experienced members of Romsey and District Beekeepers' Association and we aim to make this as good a substitute for the real thing as it possibly can be.

Topics included

You will learn about the types and parts of a hive, the life-cycle of a honey bee, and what's involved in beekeeping - all the basic information you will need if you are interested in keeping bees. This online course, which will not require you to install anything on your computer or mobile device, will cover:

We cannot, as things stand, offer a visit to the bees but we will make videos of helpful practical sessions available to participants, who will also receive a package of supporting course material.

This course costs £65 per person
