BBKA members receive a copy of BBKA News by post each month and are covered by their third party public and product insurance.
HBA members are entitled to attend county level events and talks, and receive a full refund of BBKA assessment and modules entry fees if successful.
Membership levels
Registered: Annual subscription is £40.00. Suitable for members who have, or intend to have, bees this year Full BBKA membership as above, including insurance. Includes full Hampshire Beekeepers' Association membership. members are entitled to borrow R&DBKA equipment free of charge. membership includes Bee Disease Insurance for up to 3 colonies (more may be added on payment of a small supplement).
Country: Annual subscription is £22.00. Suitable for a person who does not keep bees Full BBKA membership as above, EXCLUDING insurance. Country membership DOES NOT include Bee Disease Insurance.
Partner: Annual subscription is £20.50. Suitable for a beekeeping partner of registered member living at same address Full BBKA membership as above, including insurance. members are entitled to borrow R&DBKA equipment free of charge. Partner membership DOES NOT include Bee Disease Insurance. This does NOT include BDI. The member at the same address must cover colonies for both
Junior: Annual subscription is £15.50. Suitable for those under 21 and in full time education Full BBKA membership as above, including insurance. Includes full Hampshire Beekeepers' Association membership. members are entitled to borrow R&DBKA equipment free of charge. Junior membership DOES NOT include Bee Disease Insurance. This is a subsidised membership. There is no charge for HBA membership.
Associate: Annual subscription is £12.00. Suitable for those who are a full member of another association Excludes BBKA membership and insurance. Associate membership DOES NOT include Bee Disease Insurance.
Introductory: Annual subscription is £12.00. Suitable for those WITHOUT bees who are seeking an introduction to beekeeping Excludes BBKA membership and insurance. Introductory membership DOES NOT include Bee Disease Insurance. FOR 1 SEASON ONLY. You must upgrade to 'Registered' if you acquire bees so that you are covered by insurance
About BDI (Bee Disease Insurance) premium
For membership levels that include BDI, the membership fee covers up to 3 colonies. If you are likely to have more than 3 colonies in the season (including 'splits' and swarms) you must pay an additional amount otherwise you invalidate the terms and conditions.
